Terms & Conditions

"Azores Essence" refers to the tour operator providing the services described on this website. "Client" refers to any person who submits a booking request or participates in a tour. "Tour" refers to any guided experience offered by Azores Essence.

All bookings are made through a request system. Submitting the booking form does not constitute a confirmed booking. A booking is only confirmed once Azores Essence sends a written confirmation by email.

Azores Essence reserves the right to decline any booking request, including due to unavailability, unsuitability of the client for the requested tour, or any other reason, without obligation to provide justification.

All prices displayed on the website are per person and include VAT where applicable. Prices are indicative and subject to change without prior notice until a written confirmation is issued.

Payment terms and methods will be communicated at the time of booking confirmation. Azores Essence does not process payments directly through this website.

Cancellations are completely free, with no advance notice required. If you need to cancel your booking for any reason, a full refund will be issued. No questions asked.

In the event of cancellation by Azores Essence due to reasons within our control, clients will receive a full refund or an alternative date at no extra cost.

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to azoresessencetours@gmail.com.

Tours take place outdoors and are subject to weather conditions. Azores Essence reserves the right to modify or cancel a tour at any time due to adverse weather, road conditions, natural events, or any other circumstances beyond our control (force majeure).

In such cases, clients will be offered a full refund or rescheduling at no additional cost. Azores Essence shall not be liable for any consequential costs incurred by the client (e.g. flights, accommodation).

Clients are responsible for ensuring they are in adequate physical condition to participate in the chosen tour. Some routes involve uneven terrain, stairs or moderate walking distances. Azores Essence recommends consulting a doctor if in doubt.

The minimum age for participation is 6 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

Azores Essence reserves the right to exclude any participant from a tour at any time if their behaviour or physical condition poses a risk to themselves or others.

Azores Essence holds civil liability insurance covering guided tour activities. Participation in tours is at the client's own risk. Azores Essence shall not be liable for personal injury, illness, loss or damage to personal property, delays, or any indirect or consequential loss, except where caused by proven negligence on the part of Azores Essence.

Clients are advised to hold appropriate travel insurance covering outdoor activities, medical emergencies and trip cancellation.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise in the tour description, prices include: transport during the tour, a certified local guide, and any entry fees specifically listed in the tour programme.

Prices do not include: international or domestic flights, accommodation, personal travel insurance, meals (unless specified), gratuities, or personal expenses.

Azores Essence may take photographs or video during tours for promotional purposes. By participating, clients consent to the use of such material for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any promotional material, please inform your guide at the start of the tour.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Portuguese law. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel, Azores.

Azores Essence reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. The version in force at the time of booking confirmation shall apply to that booking.
